Make The Most of Every Day

Make The Most of Every Day

I cannot believe that this is the first weekend of July already. I don’t know about you guys, but it seems like time is moving extra fast. It feels like we just celebrated New Years…and before you know it, we’ll be gathering together for Thanksgiving. I’m not complaining though. Whether time is moving fast or slow, I am still here, and for that…I am grateful.

I think I notice how fast time is going when I realize how much time I’m wasting. I know that God will not bring us home until our work here is done. But the thing is…none of us knows when that is. So, we go about life a little haphazardly thinking that everything will magically fall into place. And though God doesn’t need us to agree with the plan He has for our lives, I think we still have a big part to play in how soon it happens.

I believe all of our “left” turns sometimes can delay our destinies. It won’t stop it, but it can definitely make it take a little longer than it has to. God does use those left turns though. During those times, He teaches us how to hear His voice. How to move when He says move, or stay when He says stand still. Nothing with God is ever wasted. The Bible talks about redeeming the time (Ephesians 5:15-18). To live in a way that brings eternal rewards. What that means is that we make the most out of every day doing what pleases the Lord.

So, let’s begin every day by turning our day over to the Lord, and asking Him to order our steps. In that way we won’t worry so much about how many days we have left, we can just make the most out of every day we are given.

Until next time…

The Esther In Me

The Esther In Me

I have been thinking about how dedicated I really am to the work God has called me to. I know what I love to do, but I find myself almost sabotaging my own success. I find myself holding back when I should be pushing forward. Watching television when I should be working my craft…and I don’t know why.

I have learned that the only way to really find out what is going on with us is to look to God’s word. When I went searching this time, God took me to the Book of Esther. I love this Book because it shows how we can overcome any obstacle when we take our minds off of our comfort and do what God is calling us to do. Here was a woman who had it all. She was young, beautiful, and she had the favor of the king—and she gave it all up to save her people. She could have kept quiet. She could have, but she didn’t. Why? Why would she jeopardize her own life for the lives of people she probably barely even knew?

She did it—because it was her destiny. She was the one. She was chosen.

…And so are we. God has chosen us too. We have a purpose that was specifically created just for us. Every time we don’t do what God is calling us to do…we short-circuit our destiny. That revelation is huge. I don’t want any of us to get to the end of our lives and look back on what could have been. Let the Esther in you come out.

I’m so glad that God never gives up on us. He specializes in second chances. He wants to be able to depend on us, and know that we are more concerned with pleasing Him than we are in being comfortable.

My hope is that the Esther in us will push us all to begin walking in our destinies.

Until next time…

Be blessed!

Let’s Finish Strong

Let’s Finish Strong

We are in the last quarter of 2020. It’s crazy how fast time seems to be going. But it always feels like that when it gets close to the end of the year. Many of us will begin to go back over the year to see what we did, and didn’t do. Of course, with all that has gone on this year that task is going to be a lot different. But, because God loves us so much, He has given all of us a road map in His word. We just have to take the time to read it.

I love looking deeper into God’s word, and finding new revelation. When we do that God reveals to us what He expects from us. The Book of Esther in particular is so good. It shows how we can overcome any obstacle when we take our minds off our own comfort and do what God is calling us to do. Here was a woman who had it all. She was young, beautiful, and she had the favor of the king—and she was willing to put it all on the line to save her people. She could have kept quiet. She could have, but she didn’t. Why would she jeopardize her own life for the life of others?

She did it—because it was her destiny. She was the one. She was chosen.

What has God chosen you for? What is it that you have been sitting on that God wants to use?

What God helped me see, was that every time we don’t do what He is calling us to…we short-circuit our destiny. That revelation was huge. The one thing we don’t want at the end of our lives is to look back and see what could have been.

It is not too late. Let’s finish strong!

So, for the next couple of weeks I will share with you what God shares with me in hopes that together we learn how to avoid doing those things that tend to keep us from the place God needs us to be.

Until next time…

Be blessed!
