Look For The Daily Blessings

Look For The Daily Blessings

Lately, I have been hearing a lot about being blessed suddenly or having unusual blessings. And I got so caught up with looking for these suddenly blessings that I was beginning to overlook the ones God blesses us with daily.

Don’t get me wrong…there are some unexpected, supernatural blessings that definitely need to be acknowledged, and God does those on a daily basis too. But, what I’m talking about is when we look so hard for those type of blessings that we miss how God wakes us up one more day, or how He causes the sun to rise or the wind to blow just enough to give us a cool breeze. I don’t want to take those blessings for granted. I want God to know that I appreciate every blessing.

I am a firm believer that God looks for ways to bless us. Why wouldn’t He? He loves us and just like any good father, He wants to see His children prosper and succeed. Psalm 1:3 says, “He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.” I want to be like Paul and be content no matter what state I’m in (Phil. 4:11). God knows us and He knows exactly what we need…even though sometimes we believe He moves a little too slow.

I did a google search for what God says are blessings and here are a few scriptures I found:

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” –Phil. 4:19

Out of His fullness, we have all received grace in place of grace already given.” –John 1:16

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.” –Psalm 138:7

I am blessed…we are blessed. Sometimes we just have different ideas about what that really looks like. Daily blessings are all around us. Don’t be so busy that you miss them.

Until next time…

Be blessed!

Dealing With Feelings Of Doubt

Dealing With Feelings Of Doubt

Today, God used my pastor to peek into my heart and speak to that place in me that has really been struggling with the spirit of doubt. Oh, make no mistake about it…it definitely is a spirit. This doubt has been keeping me from doing some things I know God has assigned me to do. I was letting my feelings of grief, and loneliness override my knowledge of who God really is in my life.

I forgot for a moment how God will use our pain as a platform for our deliverance. I forgot that He will cause the thing you have been running from to be the thing you end up running to, and I forgot that He will give us bursts of joy right in the middle of our seasons of tears.

I am convinced more than ever that everything God does or allows is so intentional. He knows what we are capable of…He just needs us to get on board with knowing it too.

Without a shadow of a doubt, I know that God is the lifter of our souls, that He will fight our battles, and make all of our crooked places straight. I know that everything He allows is to help us get to that place in Him where there is no worry…no fear…no doubt.

When we come through this season, God is going to bring us out into that wealthy place. I’m not just talking about financially. We will have more love, more power, more faith, more joy, more hope and more peace. In Jesus’ name.

Claim it for yourself. Believe it for yourself. Receive it for yourself.

Until next time…

In This Season

In This Season

The season that we have been going through…and I emphasize “going through,” because I believe that God is about to bring us out, is strengthening our inner man. What I mean is that I think we are stronger than we have been in a long time, and it’s not from anything that we have done…it has all been God’s doing. He is teaching us that we can’t continue to depend on our natural ability. Some things are going to just take faith.

The “seasons” in our lives are similar to the earth’s seasons. There is a cycle to everything. Just as spring follows winter, we will have good days, and bad days. The thing is that we need to hold on to the good days as long as possible, because our thoughts tend to lean to the negative. I don’t know why, but we seem to remember the thing that hurt us way faster than we do the thing that blessed us.

It can sometimes feel like being in a boxing match. Although I have never been in an actual boxing match, I have seen one, and I imagine that it must feel a lot like this. Some days we are so strong that we feel like we could take on the world, and the next day it’s like the weight of the world are on our shoulders. But don’t get tired. Don’t get discouraged. We have an Advocate, and His name is Jesus. In John 10:10 it says, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” But, I love what it says next, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” That statement right there cancels everything said before it.

If we stay connected to the source of our strength, and keep our focus on Him…nothing will be able to stop us.

Until next time…

Be blessed

Still good

Still good

This has been a tough season. But don’t be discouraged…this is only a season…life is still good. Things will get better. I know it feels like it is going to last forever, but it really won’t. One of the things that makes it so hard is that it seems like as soon as we get past one hurdle another one is already on the way. It can be disheartening. Our lives are just like the waves of the sea…as surely as our problems roll in–they will surely roll out.

That’s just the way life is. It’s all hills and valleys. Every now and then, we will get some level ground, but that is just there to prepare us for the next climb. God does prepare us in advance though. The thing is that we are so busy doing life that we sometimes miss the signs. But the Bible says that His grace is sufficient…meaning that even though we may miss the signs, He will carry us until we can get our footing again.

Here’s the thing…our lives are full of lessons. We just have to learn how to manage them. Some lessons are for us, and some lessons are designed for those around us. Our job is not to know which is which. Our job is to trust God no matter what is happening in our lives, and know that He will see us through. Be encouraged. Even though life may sometimes be hard…it is still worth living, and God is still good.

Until next time…
