Growing Faith

Growing Faith

I just feel in my spirit that this is the year for growth. That all those things that we have been through is growing us to a new level of faith in God. I have had to dig deeper than I ever have before, and God is showing me things He has never shown me before. I know that He is taking me to a new level in Him, and it scares me a little. But our Father is so awesome. No matter what happens, He promises to never leave us…not for anything. We can trust that. He will always keep His promise.

God’s word in Romans 8:37-39 says, “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This is one of my favorite scriptures. This one says that because of the sacrifice Jesus made at the cross on our behalf…we are assured the victory in every situation. He laid down His life so that we could surrender ours…

Today, I just wanted to remind you that the battle you are going through is not your end. Don’t give up…keep holding onto God’s unchanging hand. He has a purpose and a plan for everything that happens in your life. If you put your trust in Him, and hold on…He will show you some great and miraculous things.

Until next time…

Fear of Faith

Fear of Faith

I know…that sounds crazy. How can you have fear of faith? For the last couple of weeks, we have been talking about destiny. And even though our destiny is tailor-made for us, we can delay our destiny by being fearful. I have heard people say, “What is for me is for me, and no one can take it from me.” I believe that too. But I also know that God will use someone else to do what we will not. Now, we may eventually get around to it, but by then, God will have already raised someone else up to take our place, and our destiny will still belong to us. God will never change His mind about us, or what He has chosen for us to do, but He needs people who are going to trust Him more than they fear faith.

See, faith will tell you that you can do anything. But fear will say don’t believe that! Romans 1:9 states, “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” That is good in theory, but the reality of it can be scary, right? That’s where we have to tap into God’s grace. His grace steps in to combine with our faith so that we can do all that God has called us to do. He gives us just enough faith to handle each challenge we face. That way, we won’t get boastful; thinking more highly of ourselves than we should (Romans 12:3). We have the choice right now to change our way of thinking, and to not allow fear to keep us from what God wants to do in our lives; and what we can do for the Kingdom of God.

I believe that God is calling us to a higher purpose in this season, and we have to stop having fear of faith. In John 14:12 it says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” God has a plan for us, and He will be there with us every step of the way. We just have to let His voice speak louder than that of our fear.

Until next time…

Stay focused

Stay focused

When I am feeling down, my two cats, Bizzy and Jack always find a way to make me smile. One day, I was working at my computer, and I was having a hard time completing a task for work, and it was starting to get the best of me. I was sitting there feeling kind of useless, when my cat Bizzy meowed. When I looked at him, he quickly began moving towards me.

At first, I didn’t pay it any attention, but then I noticed that as he was walking, he wasn’t looking to the left or to the right–just straight into my eyes. It was amazing. I couldn’t stop watching him, and for some reason, it hit my spirit in a way that made me feel all weepy inside. What I realized was that I wanted to be just like that when I look at God. I want to be able to keep my eyes on Him…no matter what. That even if the world were crumbling around me, my focus on God would not waiver.

More than ever, our world needs something to hold onto right now. Our faith is being tested like never before. This Coronavirus is like nothing most of us have ever seen. There are so many updates, statistics, and warnings that it is overwhelming. I have spoken to people who are fearful of going out, and to some extent…of staying in. But, I am determined not to live my life in fear. So, in the midst of all of this uncertainty, God is answering my prayer by giving me the opportunity to be just like Bizzy, and keep my gaze fixed on Him.

Until next time…
